Residential

Located adjacent to the historic Santa Monica Airport, the residence utilizes aeronautical engineering as its primary formal driver. To articulate this structural rigor, the design deploys exposed steel framing and pronounced cantilevered volumes. Organized around a central courtyard, the massing contrasts heavy board-formed concrete with expansive glazing to actively dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior spaces. This structural expression, defined by angled steel columns and planar roof extensions, establishes a highly permeable living environment that directly responds to its site context.
